Hi, I’m Gina.

I've spent over 20 years designing loyalty and rewards strategies for global brands like Expedia, American Airlines, and Starbucks. In my travels across 35+ countries, that insider knowledge became my secret weapon to experience lie-flat seats, suite upgrades, and maximum return on every dollar. I believe exceptional travel should be effortless, restorative, and deeply inspiring. I founded Volo to bring that same strategic ease to your own adventures, combining thoughtful planning with the freedom to be fully immersed.

The story

Why Volo exists.

01 // How it started

A study-abroad semester in Australia at twenty sparked a lifelong pursuit of the globe. From sailing the Whitsunday Islands and tasting wine on Kangaroo Island to exploring Kunanyi in Tasmania, I fell in love with the art of departure, and never stopped exploring.

02 // Falling for points

While designing loyalty strategies for major travel and consumer brands by day, I realized I could apply that exact architecture to my own travels. I began dissecting award charts, routing rules, and premium redemptions to upgrade to lie-flat seats and five-star properties (and stretch my travel budget further).

03 // Why Volo

Traditional advisors often avoid points because they disrupt standard commissions, while rewards blogs leave you to handle tedious logistics alone. Volo bridges that divide, using points strategically as an accelerator for luxury rather than an added headache.

Five rules I travel by.

01 // GASTRONOMY

Michelin stars and street food belong on the same trip.

An exceptional trip pairs tasting menus with market counters, neighborhood wine bars, and morning espresso on a quiet corner. High and low belong together.

02 // PACKING

Itinerary details dictate the packing strategy.

Moving between three regions by train is not the moment for oversized luggage. When routing calls for speed and agility, carry-on only is effortless with the right edit.

03 // PACING

If you need a vacation from your vacation, the itinerary failed.

True luxury is white space on the calendar. Leaving unscripted room to wander, linger over lunch, or simply sleep in is the difference between returning depleted or genuinely restored.

04 // PERSPECTIVE

Don't skip an icon just because it isn't a "hidden gem."

The world’s greatest landmarks earned their stature for a reason. The goal is never to avoid them out of pretension, but to time and navigate them so you avoid the crowds and friction.

05 // VALUE

Life is too short for bad layovers and wasted miles.

I will never book a six-hour layover to save $100 or endure three positioning flights for a cheap redemption. When points unlock the ideal suite or premium cabin, optimize ruthlessly. Comfort always comes first.
